Goshen football continues summer training with new equipment – The Troy Messenger
The Goshen High School football team traveled to Ozark on Wednesday to participate in an Organized Team Activity (OTA) with Slocomb High School and Carroll High School.
Goshen had scheduled another OTA on Tuesday with New Brockton which was canceled, but Goshen coach Don Moore said he was pleased with his team’s improvement over the summer.
“It’s going well,” he said flatly of the summer. “We challenged our guys to go out and compete and be physical and we showed that in a big way. We obviously have areas to improve, but I feel like we did well (at the OTA).
The Eagles also have a brand new weight room with new equipment that the team is able to work with this summer.
“The kids are thrilled,” Moore said. “We told them that we would put money into it, that we would invest in it.
“It’s huge for motivation and morale. The kids saw small changes here and there, but this one was big. We also have other changes coming. They see the progress and see that we are reinvesting in them. They see it and they are proud of it. »
The old adage of ‘look good, feel good, play good’ will certainly come into play for Goshen as the Eagles will also have brand new uniforms for the 2022 season.
“We have new uniforms with new helmets and different colors,” Moore said. “Were
just changing things up and getting the kids excited. They love it and appreciate it.
“We told them about the fundraiser and I told them all the money was theirs and now they see it.”
Goshen is back at work on June 30 for another OTA with Rehobeth High School and they will travel to Geneva for a 7v7 tournament on July 12.
