Greg McElroy bets Iron Bowl with Cole Cubelic, won’t say “War Eagle”

Now McElroy and Cubelic do a weekday radio show called “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning”.
On Friday’s show, the pair made a bet before Alabama and Auburn’s football reunion in the Iron Bowl at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday.

Greg McElroy and Cole Cubelic bet on Alabama vs Auburn football
Cubelic has proposed that if Alabama wins, he will wear a McElroy Alabama jersey all day Monday. And if Auburn wins, McElroy will wear one of Cubelic’s Auburn jerseys all day Monday.
âI can get you a limited edition 2007 houndstooth collar jersey if you want that one,â McElroy said.
âI would probably throw the old school shadowbox numbers at you,â Cubelic said. “I also have swimsuits with a button between the legs.”
Cubelic clarified that the loser doesn’t just wear the jersey on his radio show.
âI’m talking about you wake up to dress that day, you wear the jersey all day,â Cubelic said. “You go to the grocery store, you wear the jersey. You have a meeting, you have to wear the jersey. You have an appearance on SVP or ‘Daily Wager’, you have to wear the jersey. That’s it. That’s it. the rule. You have to wear it Monday all day. ”
McElroy suggested they add an audio component to their show.
“So just for the show – to add insult to injury – you have to sing the Alabama Fight Song“said McElroy.
“And you sing Auburn’s fight song?” Cubelic responded.
McElroy retorted, “That’s if you win. Yeah, I’d be willing to do it. I’d be willing to risk that.”
Greg McElroy refuses to say “War Eagle”
Cubelic said he would rather sing the Alabama Fight Song rather than the Alabama Battle Cry.
âNow I won’t say US,â McElroy said. “I won’t say that. I will sing the fight song. I feel like it’s deserved, unless the words WE, sequential words, are in the fight song, in which we will do them. sound. ”
Cubelic then pointed out that “War eagle“are the first two words of the fight song called” War Eagle “.
âYou’re going to have a lot of that in there,â Cubelic said. “So I don’t know if you’re going to do a big edit, if you’re going to beep.”
The couple decided to use a horn sound in place of the words “War Eagle” if McElroy is to sing Auburn’s fight song during the show.
“What is it, the start of ‘Jock Jams, ‘”said McElroy.” I can get on board with that. ”
