5K HERITAGE DAY

Porter Township will be hosting a 5K Color Walk or Run tomorrow, June 4, at Browns Hill Tavern. Registration is from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and start time for the walk/run is at 10:00 a.m.

There will be five color stations along the route. Registration is $25 for adults; $20 for 12-17 year olds and under 12 can participate for free. Walk-in registrations will be accepted the morning of the event.

All proceeds will go to the Heritage Days Festival to be held June 11 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Lamar Park along Route 64. Call Linda at 570-295-1052 for more information or visit www.porterheritagedays .com.

The sixth annual Heritage Days Festival will be held June 11 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Lamar Park along Route 64. There will be children’s games and a petting zoo, crafts, horse rides cart and lots of great food. There will be fireworks at the end which will be set off as night falls in Snavely Field at the top of Clintondale Hill Road.

Vendors are still needed for the festival event and more information can be obtained by emailing jely2@comcast.net.

CHURCH PICNIC

Howard United Methodist Church will be hosting a free picnic Sunday, June 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the church grounds at 144 W. Main St. in Howard. The picnic is to thank all the moms and dads, so bring the whole family including your grandparents.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, various salads, baked beans, fries, desserts and coffee or water will be served on site or to take away.

Reservations are not necessary, but with a reservation before June 12, you will receive a bag of goodies on the day of the picnic! Call Patti at 814-625-2182 with your reservations.

CLUB HOUSE BINGO

The Liberty Township Sportsmen’s Association will be hosting Cash Bingo on Sunday, June 26 at the clubhouse. Only 100 tickets at $25 each will be sold due to seating capacity. The doors and kitchen will open at 11 a.m. and Bingo begins at 1 p.m. Call Dawn at 570-660-7901 or Butch at 814-280-3015 for tickets. There are still a few tickets left so call quickly to claim yours.

LIONS CLUB

The Howard Area Lions Food Bank distribution will take place on Monday, June 6 for Center County residents who live in the Lions service area, which includes the Howard, Blanchard, Marsh Creek, Hunter’s Run areas. , Jacksonville, Monument and Orviston.

Be sure to return your sturdy boxes so Lions can reuse them for future distributions.

The food bank will reopen on June 20 for residents who live in the Beech Creek area.

SCHEDULED MEETING

Schenck’s reunion will take place Saturday, August 13 at Bald Eagle State Park in Schenck’s Grove, Howard. Lunch will start at noon and the business meeting will take place at 2 p.m. The music will be provided by the Lomison family.

GLITTERING TOES

Twinkle Toes Dance Studio have been invited to perform at Disney World this fall. The group organizes fundraisers to offset the expenses that the dancers and their families will have during their trip to Florida. The trip will take place from October 11 to 18, and the dancers will perform on October 13. The help of the community is needed to make this trip an unforgettable adventure for the young dancers.

Twinkle Toes is running a gun/cash raffle during the months of July and August 2022. Tickets are $20 each and are sold at various business locations in the Clinton and Center County areas as well as by parents and grandparents of children. in the group.

Purchasing a ticket will ensure you have four chances to win from your ticket numbers on the ticket for the 62 prizes that will be awarded based on the PA Pick 4 Evening Lottery draw. Weapons are supplied by National Sporting Goods in Jersey Shore.

Twinkle Toes Dance Studio in Beech Creek is owned and operated by Angela Peters. There are about 50 young dancers who are very excited to go to Disney World together. They have trained for their performance and are improving every week.
