Jersey numbers for Texas Longhorns Football newcomers Quinn Ewers and others revealed
Texas may not have had the nation’s greatest inbound transfer class in the 2022 cycle, but it had one of the most talented, landing a quartet of players coveted on both sides of football.
The Longhorns also finished the year with the No. 4 ranked recruiting class in the nation, according to Sports Illustrated’s Team Rankings, closing the class with No. 1 offensive lineman Devon Campbell and the best corner in country nickel, Terrance Brooks, among others.
On Wednesday, according to a report from Justin Wells of Inside Texas, some of those newcomers had their jersey numbers revealed for the upcoming season, including the Longhorns’ new man under center Quinn Ewers.
Ewers is reportedly set to wear No. 3, which is the same number he previously wore both at Ohio State and during his high school days with Southlake Carroll.
Tight end J’Tavion Sanders, who wore number 3 last season, will move to number 0.
A pair of new pass-catchers from Ewers have also had their numbers revealed, with Alabama arriving, tight transfer Jahleel Billingsly set to wear No.9 and Wyoming transfer receiver Isaiah Neyor taking the No. ° 18.
Al’Vonte Woodard held the No.9 for the Horns in attack last season, while former tight end Jared Wiley wore No.18.
Finally, incoming freshman Terrance Brooks also revealed his new number on Wednesday, taking over from No. 8.
As of now, the remaining number assignments for other new faces such as transfer defensive back Ryan Watts, or one of the other early registrants, have yet to be revealed.
