ParalympicsGB gets three-year extension for Adidas
- New agreement covers Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games and 2024 Paris Summer Games
- Agreement aims to capitalize on growing interest in Paralympic sport
The British Paralympic Association (BPA) has announced an extension of its technical partnership with German sportswear giant Adidas until 2024.
The renewed partnership, which dates back to the 2008 Paralympic Games, maintains Adidas as the official supplier of kits for the ParalympicsGB team during the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games and the 2024 Paris Summer Games.
By announcing the deal, Adidas and ParalympicsGB committed to finding new ways to capitalize on the growing popularity of disabled sport in the UK throughout the partnership’s extension.
“Our collaborative relationship means that over the past 13 years, the ParalympicsGB team have been empowered to perform at the highest level on the playing field while proudly wearing a kit that not only looks great, but incorporates the best innovation and technology, âsaid Mike Sharrock, CEO of BPA.
âAdidas’ support has enabled ParalympicsGB and our athletes to continually break down barriers and challenge stereotypes around disability, and I believe that together we can go even further as we strive to ensure that the handicap and ParalympicsGB remain “impossible to ignore”. “
