Shirt Numbers for Pitt Football 2022 New Additions

Preparations are officially underway for the start of the 2022 Pitt football season.

The defending ACC champions took to the field this morning for the first of 14 spring workouts as they prepare to play the blue/gold spring game on Saturday, April 9 at Heinz Field.

Practice began Monday morning at 9:05 a.m. inside the UPMC Sports Complex and some members of the Panthers were participating in their first official team practice.

The group of newcomers was led by two transfers – quarterback Kedon Slovis and wide receiver Konata Mumpfield. Slovis begins his quest to replace next 1st round pick Kenny Pickett as the Panthers’ new starting quarterback. Given the attention defenses will be giving to the save of Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison, Mumpfield will have an opportunity to become the Panthers’ next offensive star.

Along with Slovis, Mumpfield and Notre Dame transfer linebacker Shayne Simon, seven true freshmen, who were early enrollees, were also on the practice field for the first time.

Here are the most recent Pitt Panthers jersey numbers, plus someone elected to change his number.

RB Rodney Hammond – 6
QB Kedon Slovis – 9
W. R. Addison Copeland – 11
WR Konata Mumpfield – 14
BY Samuel Okunlola – 17
DB Ryland Gandy – 18
