This shoe brand gets kudos for its climate awareness

Like most climate and global warming reports, The Business of Fashion’s report recently wasn’t good. The online magazine’s Sustainability Index found that the world’s 30 largest fashion companies were “underperforming” on targets to meet the Paris climate accord targets. Emissions from raw materials contribute 2-4% of global emissions, and trends such as fast fashion are the cause.

On the bright side, the company with the highest sustainability score, according to The Business of Fashion’s analysis of publicly available documents and reports, is German sportswear brand Puma. This is great news for Seattle Puma fans (like me), as this summer Seattle Storm superstar Breanna Stewart will be releasing her first signature shoe with Puma – “Stewie 1”.

We have yet to see the new shoes, which will likely be released in mid-summer.
