What’s the most precious thing you’ve ever seen in a thrift store? Some vinyl records? Maybe a book or two? You’ve probably found the Jacksonville Jaguars gear too, but what about your high school football jersey? Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters recently spotted one of her boyfriends, tight end Tim Tebow, and bought him.

The former Gator recently posted a video on social media where Nel-Peters wears Tebow’s high school jersey. To be clear, it wasn’t his but a replica of the one he wore when playing at Nease High School in Ponte Verde, Fla. Keep in mind that the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner was homeschooled, but state laws allowed him to participate in high school sports. In his senior year, he helped the Panthers football team win a state title and was named Florida Player of the Year.

After trying minor league baseball, Tebow is currently giving the NFL another chance. A first-round selection in the 2010 draft, the Florida product couldn’t recreate the success he enjoyed at the college level and only lasted three years with the pros. At the time, he was told he should go to the tight end. In response, he said it was not in his heart. He has now changed his mind and is trying to get on the Jaguar roster. Although Tebow has a badass in front of him, he put his head down and worked hard. In fact, he has the support of his teammates and other players in the league, including All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce.

Here is the clip of the exchange between Tebow and Nel-Peters in case you want to take a look and if it isn’t playing you can click on this link:

There’s a reason Tim Tebow is in the spotlight.

Tebow gets the spotlight wherever he goes, even though he flopped as a quarterback in the NFL. The reason is simple, he had an exceptional academic career. As soon as he became the Gators’ starting quarterback, he became a scoring machine and broke records left and right. In addition, he helped his team win two BCS National Championships and was the first varsity player to win the Heisman Trophy in sophomore year. His throwing movement was a flaw in the pros, but he was good enough in college to score points on the scoreboard and consistently win games.

Another thing that stands out about Tebow is his winning attitude. He doesn’t let adversity get the better of him. Instead, he thrives despite it. Of course, he was not successful as an NFL quarterback, and his stint in Minor League Baseball was not particularly successful. Should he have converted to the tight end in 2013? Probably, but thinking about what could have been is not productive. The point is that he is trying to take his chances at the age of 33 deserves praise.

Will Tim Tebow succeed? All eyes are on him, wondering if he will make the transition to the tight end and be part of the Jaguars roster.
